Client Spotlight: A Beautiful Blush Wedding at 12 Hotel in Atlanta

Dee (33, who works in digital advertising operations) and Craig (38, a graphic designer) met online while living in South Florida.  On their first date they spent the entire day together!   Dee says “it was like going on several dates in one day, we went to a street fair, the movies, a museum, dinner, and a bar”.  They were enjoying each other’s company so much neither wanted the day to end.

During their courtship they developed a tradition of planning surprise activities for the other’s birthdays.  It was during Craig’s surprise Birthday BBQ that he proposed.

Dee was initially unsure of the feel she wanted for her wedding, but she knew she didn’t want traditional.   It wasn’t until she found her dress; a beautiful blush colored a-line dress with a sweetheart neckline that she knew.   This became the inspiration for the rest of the wedding.

Dee writes a home décor blog that focuses primarily on budget friendly ideas ( so it was natural for her to tie together elements that were homemade with items that were rented from vendors to create a whimsical but elegant feel throughout their venue.  They were married under a chuppah with white drapes and an antique white chandelier that they made.  Blush color accented by gold and ivory adorned items such as faux floral balls for their cocktail tables, the birdcage that was used as their gift card box, and Manzanita trees adorned with blush peony and crystals that where used on their cross shaped tables.

Craig as the graphic designer, used their initials to create a heart which became the logo that would be used throughout their wedding.  It was on their save the dates, their programs and even the cake.  YES….THE CAKE!

It’s a Sweet Life had the pleasure of creating a beautiful cake highlighted with their logo and a cluster of blush colored edible wafer paper flowers that sat atop a display of individual cakes for each of their guests.   Each cake was a stunning blush, or ivory in color highlighted with wafer paper flowers, gold dragee, and edible gold lace appliqué.   The display was the perfect centerpiece to the event.
